Watching German victory from the Ebe

After slurping a so-so 8Euro Pho Bo from Altmarkt, incidentally, a recommendation by the owner of a Vietnamese provision shop, I rushed off to the Ebe to capture the mood of the World Cup game, Germany's first game in 2010. As I approached the river- there was a reverberating roar bouncing off the darkened brick walls of the various buildings - I guessed Germany must have scored ....

There were not too many people - Dresden is not that big after all, and many people were unable to enter the via the small gate leading to the giant screen.
It was pretty chilly ; I was wearing shorts - and soon shivering, despite this being mid summer. Soon, I was back in the car and back to the hotel.

As it turned out, the young Germany team thrashed Australia 4-0. Pretty unusual for a team known for boring conservative play.

Moritzburg

A gloomy rainy day and Schloss Moritzburg is under repair. We saw the biggest antler in the world, its number 28.
Rushed for lunch and managed to find a kebab house that serves pizza.
Family flew back a few hours later....

Halstatt - the vertical hamlet

Nestled between a lake and the mountain.....I don't know why of the places someone decided to build a village here.

As in many places, the true character of the hamlet shows before the arrival of day trippers....roughly about 10am, and after their departure late in the evening.

The kids spend the morning "helping" the with hay gathering.

The apartment is at the attic. The bedroom comes with a balcony with a million dollar view.
